On Thursday 11th May, JPS held its inaugural debate competition for Year 3 and 4 children. The event was attended by invited children from Years 3 and 4 and the adjudicators were amazed by their professional debating skills, organization and presentation. They debated topics including: “Supermarkets should not display sweets at the checkout”; “You should choose a job for love not money” and “We are all alike yet different” The winning team in Year 3 were: and the winners in Year 4 were……. A very well done to them, however the morning was not about winning it was about taking part in a formal debate and the progress the children made from their first debate to the last was incredible. A big thank you to Mrs Jain who organised the event and to HImakshi Shastri, Veda Fernandes, Krish Keswani and Shenaya Bhatia, our experienced debate team from Year 6 who acted as adjudicators.
