Yesterday 10 children from year 5 and year 6 attended a Gifted and Talented competition organized by and held at Dubai College. The children were split in teams of 5, and were set tasks in science, drama, sports and philanthropy. They loved creating an advert using props, playing Tchoukball, testing reactivity of metals and creating a mood board. Well done to Ayan Shariff, Alexandra Hide, Carlos Halawi, Oscar Dilworth, Olivia Sell, Aritro Chatterjee, Rio Halawi, Zain Carimjee, Nael Clague and Yaseen Ayoub for accessing each task with enthusiasm and showing excellent team work.
This week, two teams from year 3 and year 4, participated in a Science competition that was held at DESS. The children had a fun day designing a catapult, making a bouncy ball and playing a Kahoot quiz. The air buzzed with discussions on the science behind each activity. There were 19 teams in total, from many schools across Dubai. Our year 4 team came first. Big congratulations to Anya Ehsan, Benjamin Macdougall, Aahana Sen, Vihaan Desai, Elyes Mrabet, Nicolas Olymbios, Joshua Garvey and Ryka Gehi for being excellent team players.
