On Monday, 8 children represented JPS in the Primary Round of the Reader’s cup, in this year’s Emirates Literature Festival. Our teams were competing against 20 other teams from schools across Jumeirah, in this first round, where competition is fierce with numerous teams across the UAE competing for a coveted place in the final.
The children worked very hard, reading the chosen books multiple times to answer the variety of questions posed, that were testing their recall skills.
We are eagerly awaiting the results which will be announced end of January.
Well done to Jad Oklany, Veda Fernandes, Malaika Hassan, Annanya Siraj, Alexandra Hide, Amaan Zaidi, Eleftheria Sermpetis, and Ayaan Sharif. Special mention also to Himakshi Shastri and Sabeen Shariff, who both worked hard as reserves, but on this occasion were not required on the day.
