On Friday, 42 keen debaters attended the Primary World scholar’s Cup. They debated motions including “Two heads are better than one “and wrote essays on such topics as “Would you like to know what the world will be like 100 years from now”. Lots of JPS students also featured in the talent show, with Gus on Piano; Advey on Guitar; Ayan on Ukulele; Sannat on piano; Tilly and Josephine singing; Reeti on piano; Ahren, Alexandra and Yousef singing; Leen playing Piano; Ahren dancing; When the award ceremony began, JPS were thrilled to receive awards across the board, not only for debating, but also writing and general knowledge. Special mentions go to Carlos Halawi, Yousef Essa and Omar El Toukhy, were recognized as a champion team and to Alexandra Hide, who was awarded champion scholar and recognized for her tremendous debating skills.
All 42 children were wonderful ambassadors for JPS and achieved so much both individually and as a group. Their enthusiasm both before and during the event was incredible and we look forward to seeing many of them develop as keen debaters as they enter Year 6.
